Soviet Space Dogs

The untold story of courageous canines.

Unbeknown to most, the first mammal to travel to space was a dog, soon to be followed by plenty other canine crusaders. This book is dedicated to the dogs plucked from the streets of Moscow by the Russian space agency in the 1950's. The dogs were trained and sent to space, many never to return. The mutts inspired the people of Russia and were printed on postcards, tins, stamps, and more. For the first time ever, these images are all complied into a single source. This book contains over 350 images, most of which were previously unpublished, including everything from candy wrappers to cigarette packs, appealing to dog lovers, space fans, and art and design enthusiasts.
