- Similar to cast iron, gently clean the surface using warm water and a rag or brush with soft bristles. Dry the surface with a clean towel then heat on low to remove any remaining moisture. Once fully dried, turn off the heat and coat the surface evenly with a thin layer of oil. Wipe down after use to prevent rust.
