DaFiN started with Andy Cochran, an Aussie who'd been living in Hawaii for 35 years after acting as one of Australia's early surfing pioneers at the famous Bondi Beach. The first designs for DaFiN go back to the mid 90's, where Cochran created one out of a wood block. Since then, the fins have evolved to meet the needs of swimmers, and are now both one of the lightest and most powerful fins on the market. Less weight means less strain. And when you spend your life chasing waves, that makes a big difference.
