Future Islands
Baltimore-bred Future Islands started releasing its brand of toe-tapping synth pop in 2006. Once relegated to the basements of house parties and back room bars, the trio is known for the growl and stage presence of frontman Samuel T. Herring. The band has drawn up enough support to garner spots at some of the biggest festival stages for new music, including Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Glastonbury.
