Formed in London the mid 60’s and active for only three years, The Jimi Hendrix Experience is the Platonic ideal of the rock and roll power trio. Bassist Noel Redding and turbo-charged drummer Mitch Mitchell worked backed popular music's most celebrated guitarist, together launching live shows that left even Hendrix's contemporaries' jaws on the floor. The Experience minted three iconic records before Hendrix struck out on his own: Are You Experienced (1967), Axis: Bold as Love (1967), and Electric Ladyland (1968).
