John Coltrane
A legend in the jazz world, John Coltrane was a true pioneer of the genre who helped to advance the unique form of free jazz expression. While his life was tragically short – he passed away in '67 at age 40 – he produced some of the world's best saxophone music, worked with other jazz giants like Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, and influenced an untold number of musicians for generations to come.
