M83
M83 popped up on indie music radars in 2003, when Frenchmen Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau released a shoegazey pop record called Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. Gonzalez would eventually pursue the band as a solo project, rocketing to the fore of Spotify playlists everywhere with 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and it's lead single, "Midnight City". Gonzalez raised the project's profile another notch in 2013 when he scored sci-fi blockbuster, Oblivion. Synthpop and ambient aficionados gave a thumbs up to M83's third full-length release, Junk, which debuted in the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 in 2016.
