A Swiss brand by way of England, Rolex was founded in London in 1905, moved to Geneva fourteen years later, and spent the next ninety-something years becoming synonymous with the word "luxury." Their watches are true icons of high-end style, blended with major functionality: the Oyster was the first waterproof watch. The dive-ready Submariner was the first watch waterproof to 100 m. The Datejust was the first to feature an automatically changing date. Oh, and they perfected a little thing called the automatic movement in 1931, and invented Quartz movements thirty seven years later, revolutionizing the industry twice over.
