The xx
London's the xx formed in high school, but it wasn't until the release of their eponymous full-length in 2009 that the group's dark, breathy, and sparse brand of indie-electro pop hit the big time. The intertwining croon of Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim's voices was everywhere you looked, from indie playlists to year-end best of lists to festival circuits. 2015 marked the launch of Jamie xx as a concurrent solo artist who enjoyed a chunk of buzz and critical acclaim of his own. Three records in, the band has fostered a consistently attached fan base that just might keep them in black clothing and shimmering guitar tones for years to come.
