Wittnauer
The Wittnauer company began with an opportunity. Albert Wittnauer was importing Swiss watches with his brother at extremely high prices and realized that he could find a way to create wristwatches for a much lower cost without sacrificing quality. So in 1885, he began the company that would help to revolutionize the watch world. Wittnauer helped to create some of the early instruments used in WWI, and in 1926 was chosen to provide the official time for NBC radio broadcasts. And in 1916 when the final Wittnauer brother had passed away, Martha Wittnauer became the first woman watchmaker CEO. All that history in one small timepiece.
