Greenland No. 1 Jacket – Green
There's nothing worse than being caught unaware. Your boss busting you for checking out a few minutes early is one thing, but when it comes to the great outdoors, being surprised can get dangerous — or at the very least, extremely uncomfortable. Fjällräven’s offerings ensure that you're ready for the elements, but with a sharp eye on modern styling that’s just as fit for braving downtown as it is the great outdoors.
Other than boasting an unpronounceable name, The Sweden-born company made their name on the G-1000 fabric, the ready-for-anything material your days demand. Typically used as tent material, G-1000 is made from tightly woven polyesters and cotton that's blended with Greenland wax. Back in 1960, Fjällräven founder Åke Nordin decided to make a jacket and trouser set with the material, laying the groundwork for the brand’s water- and wind-resistant outerwear.
The Greenland No. 1 is one of the brand's classic jackets, originally designed in 1960. Little has changed, or needed to change since then, and the jacket still sports a fixed hood, a flap zipper, and two breast pockets. The jacket is made with organic cotton and recycled polyester, and takes to Greenland wax, making it the perfect all weather wearable that's resistant to water, wind, and wear.
