The Double and The Gambler

From Russia with love.

Russian writers aren’t known for their brevity, but this comparatively slim volume includes two different works by Dostoyevsky, considered by many to be one of history's greatest writers. The Double and The Gambler offer two narratives that introduce the author’s specific voice and way of thinking. Follow Goliadkin as he discovers a doppelganger who begins to replace him among his family and friends. Then turn the page toward Alexei Ivanovich, and the disastrous love affairs that crumble in the wake of his gambling addiction. Dostoyevsky looked into the abyss with these works, and the abyss looked back. Now it’s your turn.
