The body is made solid stainless steel that's been treated with an exceptionally tough PVD DLC finish, the same one used by high-end watchmakers, and it's closed with a brass screw, cut by a historic Massachusetts screw maker. The pen also comes with a pressurized space pen ink cartridge, so you can write whenever - and wherever - you want. Your Bic certainly can't do that.
