The chocolate you eat is lying to you. In fact, you've been lied to your whole life. Most chocolate is made from hybrid cacao trees that are a far cry from their ancestors. Only 5% of the world's chocolate is made using premium, Nacional cacao from Ecuador, the birthplace of cacao. Luckily To'ak is one of those chocolate makers in the 5%.
To'ak hand-makes its collection of limited edition, single-origin dark chocolate bars using traditional Ecuadorian techniques. Each one contains a single roasted cacao bean at its center, hand-selected by the brand's chocolatiers. The bar is then shipped in a hand-crafted hardwood box stamped with the bar's number, and housing a booklet that not only contains a tasting guide, but also the history of the To'ak cacao beans and an illustrated guide to chocolate making.
