Stirred Summer Cocktail Recipes

  • Ingredients
  • 2 oz Zacapa rum
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 3 dashes angostura bitters

Preparation

  2. Stir thoroughly, taking care not to break the ice cubes.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with cherries.

Rum Manhattan

  • Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 1 oz bourbon
  • 3/4 oz dry vermouth
  • 3/4 oz campari

Preparation

  1. Pour all three ingredients into a mixing glass.
  2. Add ice and stir thoroughly
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

Classic Mojito

  • Ingredients
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 3 mint leaves
  • 1 tsp suga
  • Soda water

Preparation

  1. Muddle the mint leaves with the sugar and lime juice in a collins glass.
  2. Add the rum and stir to dissolve the sugar
  3. Top with soda water, then garnish with any leftover mint leaves.

Dark and Stormy

  • Ingredients
  • 1 oz dark rum
  • 3 oz ginger beer
  • Lime

Preparation

  1. Pour the ginger beer into a highball glass over ice.
  2. Top with rum, then squeeze in the juice from a lime wedge and drop in the remnants.

Make-Your-Own Rum Punch

For an easy (and easy to remember) rendition, just follow the traditional Barbadian recipe: one sour, two sweet, three strong, four weak. That means:

  • One part citrus
  • Two parts sweetener
  • Three parts rum
  • Four parts juice

Preparation

  1. Mix it all into a pitcher with plenty of ice and you're good to go.

Of course, there's a lot of flexibility within that lineup. You can use any kind of citrus, juice, or sweetener, along with light, gold, dark, spiced, or flavored rum -- though it might be best to reserve the good stuff for recipes that won’t dilute it as much -- which adds up to a sizable range of options you can create based on whatever sounds good to you (or whatever's in your fridge). Creativity is encouraged.

Intro to Awesome Punch

  • Ingredients
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 3 oz lime juice
  • 1 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 3 oz aperol
  • 3 1/2 oz white rum
  • Club soda

Preparation

  1. In a pitcher, muddle cucumber slices.
  2. Add lime juice, simple syrup, Aperol, and rum.
  3. Add a few scoops of ice cubes & stir ingredients until ice-cold & properly diluted.
  4. Strain into a punch bowl, top with 6 oz club soda, and garnish with cucumber slices plus a light sprinkle of sea salt.

Honey Badger Punch

  • Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 oz lime juice
  • 1 1/2 oz passion fruit syrup
  • 1 1/2 oz jalaeno-infused honey
  • 3 oz Applejack
  • 4 1/2 oz white rum

Preparation

  1. To make jalapeño-infused honey, warm honey and pour into a jar with jalapeños. Cover and refrigerate for several days.
  2. Then blend lime juice, passion fruit syrup, jalapeño honey, applejack, and rum together and pour into a pitcher.
  3. Add ice cubes and stir ingredients until ice-cold & properly diluted.
  4. Strain into a punch bowl and garnish with lime wheels, jalapeño slices, and Granny Smith apple slices.

House Punch

  • White rum
  • Pineapple juice
  • Mango juice
  • Orange juice

Preparation

  1. Simply combine the ingredients according to your tastes -- we suggest equal parts of each -- add plenty of ice, and stir until properly chilled.

Victorian Punch

  • Coconut rum
  • Pineapple rum
  • Pineapple juice
  • Cranberry juice

Preparation

  1. Mix one part of each rum to four parts of each juice, stir thoroughly with ice until chilled, and serve.
