To celebrate the launch we asked Mark Asuncion and Steven Sharpe to take the Fill Mill system for a spin. We sent Mark "Sunday Dinner at The Grove" and sent Steveen "Behind the Unmarked Door." These two guys know what they’re doing when it comes to designing a beautiful interior space and setting a vibe. Here's what they had to say about the ruggedly minimalist new candle brand you can only get at Bespoke Post.

What do you think of the aesthetic?

Mark: The heavier weight from the concrete exudes luxury. The design is simple, minimalistic, and looks great in any environment.

Steven: I like the matte finishing and neutral colors the holder comes in. It seamlessly blends into my decor without becoming too much of a statement.

Once you acquainted yourself with the functionality, what are some of the specific features that stand out to you and why?

Mark: I love that you can interchange between scents without having to change the look. All candles these days have unique looks, so if you want to change between scents, the vessel for each of those scents will differ. In this case, you keep the same exact look, but can swap out scents that match your mood in the moment quickly and easily.

Steven: I like that the holder doesn’t get too hot when the candle has been lit for a while. It makes relocating the candle to a different space more feasible.

How would you describe the benefits of owning a Fill Mill candle to a friend you were recommending it to?

Mark: It’s a proper piece of homeware. The design was well thought out and has such a unique functionality that other candles in the market don’t offer. It’s understated and doesn’t steal the show unless you want it to.

Steven: I would say it’s a great way to keep candles around without taking away from other decor. And since it’s refillable, you can switch out scents based on mood or season.

What do you think makes buying a Fill Mill refillable candle the right move vs. an average candle you’d normally buy?

Mark: The ease of switching from scent to scent without compromising your decor.

Steven: It’s the right move if you’re like me who likes a lot of candles but never know what to do with spent glass candle containers. It’s also a consistent size.

Is the sustainability element of owning a refillable candle system important to you? If so, why?

Mark: Yes, it’s important! I run through candles pretty frequently - I like to light one as I begin to wind down for the day. Which means, I end up tossing out a lot of glass with wax remnants, making it difficult to properly recycle. With Fill Mill, this issue is completely avoided.

What is the one thing you love about this product the most?

Mark: The design. It looks and feels luxurious. It has brass hardware on the lid and the whole entire vessel, including the lid is concrete, making it feel and look expensive.

Steven: The aesthetic of the vessel.

What does the scent you have here remind you of?

Mark: Spring, clean cotton, fresh linen, crisp morning air

Steven: It reminds me of being upstate in a wood cabin.

What room do you think this scent will work best in, in your home?

Mark: This scent works well in large open spaces. It’s perfect for the main bedroom or the living room, particularly during the day.
