Awhile ago I got the Bradley Mountain Muir Axe Pack and needed an axe to put in it- I've been looking for some time, but I don't have reason to use an axe that often at this point so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. I needed an intro axe! There were so cheap ones, but they mostly looked kinda cheap. When I found the Barebones Hatchet I was excited because the price was right *and* it's beautiful. The size is good for someone who needs to store it in their house and doesn't have a big shed or garage, and you wont look like a psycho killer if it's just casually hanging around the living room. The included Bushcraft book is a great little guide with a lot of valuable info. Definitely a great buy.

I was surprised to find that the field hatchet is made in China. The head is just a press fit to the handle and does not utilize any type of wedge to secure the fit. Although I have not used it yet, I suspect that the head will eventually work its way loose. The book was informative and I will add it to my outdoor collection.
