Stargazing Kit

Look up.

Looking into the night sky is inspiring. Looking into the night sky with the Stellarscope is something else entirely. The small, easily portable device helps you to quickly identify more than 1,500 stars visible to the naked eye. And if that's not enough, open up 50 Things to See in the Sky and you'll learn the science behind blue skies, sun dogs, and the solar eclipse, and observe nocturnal wonders like lunar halos and Martian ice caps—all with a little help from astrophysicist and producer Sarah Barker and illustrator Maria Nilsson.

To use the Stellarscope, choose the adapter for your latitude, rotate the time/date selector, and then look through the lens to discover a star map aligned with the actual night sky. The maps include the continental U.S. as well as most of Alaska and Canada, south of the Arctic Circle.

  • Stellarscope: (H)6" x (W)2.5", accurate between 20° and 60° north or south latitude
  • 50 Things to See in the Sky: (L)7.55" x (W)5.65", hardcover 144 pages written by Sarah Barker, illustrations by Maria Nilsson
