Best gist for the party!
Sure, your iPhone can do a lot, but it can’t capture the nostalgic, analog feel of an iconic Super 8 camera. The screen-free CS-8 rewinds to a time when you shoot one take and wait to see what you’ve recorded, rooting you in the moment. Each trigger-pull records a new clip, audio and all, and each shot is a mystery until you transfer your files to a device. Swap through five vintage-inspired filters and record in various aspect ratios to document the world in your image.

Wife and I went on a 10 day roadtrip in a RV to celebrate our birthdays. I bought this camera specially for the trip and to remember our time together in a unique way. And for the purpose of showing our children one day. Well this camera truly performed! Film quality is truly amazing and unique. Well worth the purchase! Received many compliments from strangers on it as they were impressed it was digital!

I got this to use at a family wedding. Havent had the wedding but have been olaying around with it. So far it seems great. Obviously its not film level quality but half the fun is using it. Very easy to pass around to friends and family

My fiancé and I’s upcoming trip to Tuscany prompted the purchase of this camera, but honestly just using it to document every day life at home has made it a worthwhile purchase! It’s permanent display in the home office has also made it a talking piece. Highly recommend purchasing this camera!
The CS8 is a video camera — it records clips each time you hold the trigger, audio included. It's inspired by the Kodak Super 8 design and shoots in multiple aspect ratios including 16:9 widescreen, 4:3, 9:16 portrait, and square. It's not a stills camera.
There's an electronic viewfinder for composition, but no screen to review footage on the camera itself. You shoot without seeing the results, then transfer files via USB-C to a device to see what you captured. Reviewers describe this as the whole point — it keeps you present in the moment and makes the reveal feel like getting film developed.
Yes, intentionally. The CS8 shoots with five vintage-inspired filters that give footage a Super 8, analog aesthetic — not crisp 4K. Reviewers who understand what they're buying love the grainy, nostalgic look. It's not meant to compete with a smartphone on resolution; it's meant to capture a feeling. One reviewer notes strangers were impressed it was digital because of how it looks.
Via USB-C — you connect the camera to a device and transfer files directly. The camera also has analog indicators on the side showing remaining battery and storage, keeping the experience tactile and screen-free. Reviewers describe the transfer process as simple.
Reviewers consistently buy it as a gift and describe it as a hit. It's best suited for people who want to document life in a more intentional, present way — travelers, couples, people who collect analog gear, or anyone tired of filming everything on a phone. One reviewer describes strangers stopping to ask about it; another says it's now a permanent talking piece in their home office.
