Works great holds a good edge
If Paul Bunyan ran a pizzeria, he’d be swinging one of these bad boys. Comfortable in the hand, this Pizza Axe from Marcellin is the sharpest way to slice the thickest of crusts. The weighty stainless steel blade rocks in a straight line to keep every topping where it belongs — on your pie. Complete with a sheath for safe storage when pizza night is finished.

What do you get the man who's impossible to shop for but doesn't want more junk? A weapon, of course. Not just any weapon, a practical, everyday weapon to slay his favorite foods: pizza, quesadillas, garlic bread. . . basically anything loaded with cheese. Let him channel his inner Viking as he hacks through dinner like his ancestors would have. . . if they'd had pepperoni. The axe is hefty, sharp, and surprisingly well-made. It cuts cleanly in a single pass and has become one of my husband's favorite kitchen gadgets. 10/10. Would raid the pizzeria again.
Reviewers — including a former sous chef from professional Italian kitchens — say yes, especially for thick crusts. The 1.94 lb stainless steel blade rocks in a straight line across the pizza, cutting cleanly without dragging toppings. Multiple reviewers describe it as the best pizza cut they've ever gotten.
The blade is 420J2 stainless steel (3CR13 grade) — durable and corrosion-resistant with a good edge for kitchen use. Reviewers describe it as very sharp out of the box and praise its ability to cut through thick crusts on the first try. The handle is ergonomic acacia wood.
At 1.94 lbs it has real heft — reviewers consistently describe the weight as an advantage, giving the blade enough momentum to cut through pizza without extra force. It's 8.4" long, so substantial but not unwieldy.
Hand wash and dry immediately after use — the acacia handle shouldn't be soaked. The single flat blade is actually easier to clean than a rolling cutter, which traps cheese and toppings in the axle. Keep the included sheath on when stored.
Both — and that's the appeal. Reviewers who bought it as a gift say it gets used every pizza night, not just displayed. Several replaced their pizza wheel entirely. The craftsmanship and real-world performance make it more than a conversation piece.
