Manufacturer Recommendations:

  • Medium-coarse grind, like coarse sand or sea salt; pre-ground, bagged coffee tends to be too finely ground for ideal operation
  • Bleached (white) coffee filters; brown unbleached filters may leave a “cardboard” taste in your coffee; permanent wire-mesh type filters can quickly clog with coffee oils
  • Use water you would drink (fresh tap, filtered, or bottled water); reverse osmosis filtered water or distilled water are not recommended, as they can damage the boiling element

Recommended/Industry Standard Water-to-Coffee Ratio for Optimal Flavor

  • 2 tbsp. of ground coffee to every 6 oz. of water (55 grams of ground coffee per liter)

  2. Firmly attach outlet arm to silicone gasket at the top of the cool water reservoir; the fit should feel snug; Caution: outlet arm is HOT while brewing

  4. Place paper filter in brew basket; Caution: do not remove lid while brewing as scalding may occur
