This World Map is created with the illusion of 3D by applying Digital Elevation Data and meticulously adding shaded relief to the original 1917 landscape of both hemispheres. The shading is printed on the paper and not a result of the map protruding from the surface. Going the distance, Muir Way used Bathymetry data derived from sonar imaging to display the under-sea-level terrain of the deep blue that takes up a majority of Earth.
